Winter, what's that?

Welcome to Spring Break University aka Arizona State University. Life doesn’t get much better here, surrounded by the perfect scenery, and I’m not just talking about the people. I’m not sure why anyone would ever go anywhere else to better their education and still have the best years of their lives.

  1. There is literally a pool party almost every single weekend. The fun goes all the way into January. It’s exhausting. To go along with this, the weather is perfect pretty much all year round. What is winter?
  2. Don’t even get me started about game days. There is so much emphasis on football and the tailgates. Half of the time student’s don’t even make it to the games because of all the fun tailgate festivities. The U of A rivalry makes for a lot of heated competition that the students can’t get enough of.
  3. You could probably go out every single night of the week if you wanted to. Whether it’s a trip down Mill Ave. to hit up Gringo, or perhaps Hefe. Maybe it's Wednesday and you're going to old town for Sunday fun day. Yes I promise we still go to class.
  4. Then there’s Greek life. I’ve met the best friends I’ve ever had joining this community, spending every single day together walking to class or staying up all night laughing and telling stories. Joining a sorority/fraternity is the best decision one can make at ASU.
  5. Endless shopping is available close to campus, whether you’re on Mill Ave. scoping out the boutiques, or want take a short drive to Scottsdale Fashion square. Any fashionista is bound to be satisfied with hundreds of trendy stores.
  6. There’s so many delicious food options that surround campus, whether it's Postinos for a Bruchetta Board or Sunday Brunch at NCounter you will never go hungry in Tempe. It is not uncommon to hit up Dutch bros and In 'n Out once or twice a week. Seriously, if you leave Arizona you will have withdrawals based on the food alone.
  7. The campus is close to all types of adventure, whether you want to climb Camelback mountain trails or go exploring around Saguro lake. You can spend the day Salt River tubing. The possibilities are endless.
  8. It is only about a four hour drive to California or Vegas. There are many opportunity for the spontaneous road trip to occur and it does often.
  9. Arizona State is the largest campus in the U.S. There are a wide variety of clubs and activities to get involved in. Hundreds of academic majors are offered allowing any student to succeed and follow their dreams.
  10. The last reason I hate this school is because it’s going to be so hard to graduate from. There is always something to do and has brought me the best memories I could have ever had. The city of Tempe that surrounds ASU has so much culture and I can’t wait to see it continue to grow.

Christmas Tree
History.com

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
