It is finally that time of the year to start packing up your dorm room and head home for the summer. Still hard to believe that we all survived and now it is just time to sit back and relax. No more homework and no more books. No more music blasting through the halls and no more crappy food. You're finally able to go home and start those summer adventures that you have been dreaming of throughout finals week. But first, every college student will do these 10 things before they really start their summer and make the transition from hell to a few months of nothing but fun.

1. Give your pet a hug

Honestly you'll probably run to your pet before you even say hi to your parents or siblings. Gotta have your priorities straight.

2. Take a nap in your own bed

Nothing says home like that first time sleeping in your own bed. Hard to believe that they even make beds that are wider than ten inches.

3. Have a home-cooked meal

Nothing says home like your mom's homemade mac and cheese. You no longer have to suffer through the caf meals, surviving off of 2 hour old pizza. Better yet, you won't have to walk a mile in order to get food or spend the time trying to look presentable.

4. Take a shower... Without shower shoes

Your feet will finally be free of the dreaded shower shoes.

5. Live out of suitcases for the next few months

Even though you'll have over 3 months of relaxation and fun, you won't take the time to unpack your suitcases. Way too much effort.

6. Not survive off of eating peanut butter straight from the jar

Yup, this is how I survived college, but now I'll actually have real food to eat.

7. Sleeeeeeep

No more 8am classes. No more roommates waking you up. No more music blasting through the wall hours of the night. Peace and quiet.

8. Maybe make some money

After all those late night dominoes orders and online shopping sprees you may want to start making some cash in order to save up for next year when you blow the wad again.

9. Give your car a hug

You will finally be reunited with your car, just in time for those summer adventures.

10. Wish you were back at school

What do you mean I can't stay out until 4 in the morning? And I can't even walk around with vodka in my tumbler? Dayumm! Who knew I'd want the college life back.

Summer time is great, but you will definitely miss college and all the good times and memories that were made. Make sure to enjoy the summer and have some good old times with your high school buds.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
