10 Things Every High School Senior Is Feeling Right Now

As told by New Girl...

10 Things Every High School Senior Is Feeling Right Now

It's bad enough going back to school after winter break but it's even worse for high school seniors. I thought the senioritis was bad last semester, but I've only been to school for two days so far and even that has been too much. As of the moment I wrote this I have exactly 11,160,521 seconds until graduation. It amazing how badly we want high school to end yet I'm sure we're all going to miss it- even just a little- once it's over (who am I kidding, no we won't). While you're struggling to get through your final semester, I hop you enjoy these New Girl themed phases.

1. New Years Day comes along...

This is our year. We are finally graduating, nothing can stop us now!

2. Then you realize school is tomorrow

Why is winter break only two and a half weeks long? Why does it have to go by so fast?

3. And your sleep schedule is way out of wack

It consists if you going to bed at three in the morning and waking up at noon. Sometimes you would even sleep 10 plus hours per day. Life was so simple without homework and with more Netflix, why must it end?

4. But then you remember there is only 133 days until graduation

A mini dance party is very necessary for this realization because, after all, you've been through 12 years of this already.

5. And senioritis hits you hard

To the point where even the idea of school upsets you. You're way to mature for this place. Basically, you rule the school and there isn't one thing that could make you do something you don't want to.

6. The "what are you doing with your life" question comes up a lot

They ask what you plan on majoring in in college, and-after thinking about it for over a year now- you still have no idea.

7. What college you are going to?

There are way to many colleges in the world, still a lot in the country, and a ridiculous amount in your state alone. The emails and mail from various colleges are ruining your life. At this point you've narrowed down your list to a possible 15-20 and are slowly eliminating them based on cost. You'll get back to that answer by May 1st.

8. Are you staying in state?

If I did want to stay in state, you constantly asking me that question makes me want to less and less. If I didn't want to stay in state that question just gets really annoying.

9. Eventually you become so overwhelmed with the questions that eventually you block everyone out and inevitably look like this...

Enough said.

10. The last day of school will probably start off like this

Second semester is going to go by in a flash so while laughing and agreeing with many of these phases, take time to enjoy your final moments in high school. Be spontaneous and crazy, be confident and have no regrets, you'll never be as young as you are right now again. I wish you the best of luck class of 2017.

The 5 Painfully True Stages Of Camping Out At The Library

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
