With the 2016 Presidential Election in full swing and November 8 rapidly approaching, it's imperative we do our part in the political process and vote. It doesn't matter what political party, candidate or ideals you support, exercising your right to vote is one of the most important roles American citizens possess. The first step in exercising this constitutional right is registering to vote!
Registering can be done online, in-person or by mail. In Louisiana, you can register to vote as late as 30 days before Election Day! All you need is your Louisiana license number and your residential address. For convenience sake, here's the link to register to vote in LA. It's a super fast and simple process so, why not exercise your civic duty?
In fact, the registering and voting process is so simple that we have some time to reflect on some things that are much more difficult than voting. Here are just a few:
1. Walking through Target without buying anything.
2. Watching "The Bachelorette" without googling who wins.
3. Perfecting your winged eyeliner on both sides.
4. Conjugating Spanish verbs.
5. Waiting for the new season of "Gilmore Girls" on Netflix.
6. Breaking in new shoes. Or worse... heels.
7. Going to the doctor by yourself.
8. Capturing a Pikachu.
9. Finding the new Bluebell Ice Cream Flavor.
10. Watching a curling match.
As you can see, there are a lot of things more difficult than registering to vote. So, my fellow Americans, I encourage you to take the simple steps necessary to exercise your constitutional right and vote in the 2016 Presidential Election!
