10 Things That Will Happen While Taking A Road Trip

In a society full of instant gratification, the road trip, in my opinion, is a lost art. Whether it's an hour down the road or a trip across the country, there are just some things that are inevitable when you stick four different personalities in a cramped minivan. So, please keep all arms and legs inside the vehicle at all times and let's hit the open road!

1. You will not leave on time.

It’s inevitable, and it happens to the best of us.

2. Someone will forget something.

And the driver will not stop, and you will have to hear about how they forgot said item for the rest of the trip. Moral of the story is—don’t forget anything. Ever.

3. There will be a power struggle for control of the aux cord.

Remember everybody, sharing is caring!

4. At least one person will be directionally challenged.

In case you were wondering, it actually is possible to get lost using Google Maps.

5. There’s always that one person who will never drive.

Have you ever noticed that one friend who always manages to sleep through the entire trip? Yeah, don’t be that friend.

6. For every McDonald’s Iced Coffee you drink, you will need to take at least three bathroom stops.

It’s simple road trip math, really.

7. Someone will have a severe over-packing issue.

“I know we’re only gone for the weekend, but I wanted to have options.”

8. Nobody will agree on a place to eat.

If you aren’t cool with fast food, don’t come. There’s no room for a three-course meal in a minivan.

9. You won’t get to your destination on time.

I hope you don’t have anywhere important to be!

10. Always watch out for flying food at the gas station.

If it happened in "Pitch Perfect," it must happen in real life.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
