If you’ve been outside recently, you have most likely experienced the phenomenon of water falling from the sky, AKA rain. Especially in Georgia, it seems as though it rains at least two or three times a week. Here are a few things that happen to all of us on rainy days.
1. You wake up to hear the little pitter-patter of raindrops on your window.
That’s the best case scenario. Usually, it’s a loud drumming noise that tends to be a brutal alarm clock.
2. You try to decide to whether it’s really worth it to even go to class.
You look outside, silently applauding/judging all of those people who have decided to venture outside.
3. Once you’ve decided that you probably should go to class, you try to decide what type of outfit to wear.
Forget about looking cute. Today is a day for rain boots, no makeup, and a comfy sweatshirt. Besides, even if you had decided to look nice, no one would be able to tell after 10 minutes spent outside.
4. Then come all of the rain accessories.
Just a rain jacket? Umbrella? Both? In my experience, more rain protection is always better. You never know when you’ll accidentally step into a puddle or be sprayed with water from a passing bus.
5. You realize that college students still do not know how to drive in the rain.
It’s not that hard to turn your lights on and stay in your lane, is it? By the time you make it to your parking lot, you’re just glad that you made it there without getting into a wreck.
6. Somehow, no matter how much you tried to prevent it, you and everything in your book bag ended up soaked before noon.
.
7. Riding the buses just got worse.
If you think riding a packed bus on a regular day is bad, just wait until you try to ride it while it’s raining. Everyone is wet, in a bad mood, and since no one wants to walk, the bus is even more crowded than usual (if that’s even possible). Waiting for the bus also has its own challenges, since they seem to run on a slower schedule on rainy days.
8. Most professors don’t cancel class.
However, there is nothing worse than getting all the way there and then realizing you have an email saying class is cancelled.
9. After class is over, and you finally make it back to your apartment, you vow not to leave again for the rest of the day.
You try to catch up on reading, homework, or whatever else you need to do. Eventually though, you end up staring out the window thinking of all of the things that you could be doing if the weather were nicer.
10. By the end of the day, you're wet, cold, and just a little bit irritated at everyone and everything around you.
But don't worry, tomorrow is another (hopefully rain-free) day!
