10 Things That Give College Students Anxiety

1. When the Uber arrives but no one is ready.

2. Trying to find a parking spot on campus.

Class starts in 2 minutes, there is no where to park, and it takes a least 15 minutes to walk from the parking lot to the class... looks like I'm going home!

3. Thinking about doing the work for your online class but never actually doing it.

4. When you arrive at a party before 11 p.m.

It's only 10:30? It's too early to go anywhere we have to take six more shots.

5. When there is .43 cents in your bank account but you NEED a coffee.

Ballin on a budget or lack thereof. Plus, the Pumpkin Spice Latte is seasonal so you only have a limited time to get it! *overdraws bank account -$4.57*

6. Waking up in the morning after drinking and seeing that over 100 people watched you throw up in someone's garden on your Snapchat story.

Should I even delete it? Is the damage already done? My mom saw this!?

7. When you go to sleep at 2 a.m. because you were googling the origin of chicken nuggets but have class at 8 a.m.

This is based on a true story.

8. Textbooks, in general.

Do I actually buy it? Should I look for an online PDF version? IT COSTS 250 DOLLARS!?

9. Dating apps, mostly bumble.

Yeah I swiped right but do I actually message him? I only have 27 minutes left?! Why hasn't he extended his "connection"? If he really liked me he would've extended his time. Dick.

10. When you have a test on Thursday but yesterday was "Wine Wednesday" and you didn't study.

In conclusion, anxiety in college is inevitable, especially if you care about your GPA... and you drink a lot. By balancing your vodka to studying ratio, some of that anxiety can be alleviated. College is hard but it is also supposed to be fun. Don't let it get to you! Whether it be late night google sessions or poor choices during a night out, this is your time to live and learn.

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!
