10 Things That Are Sure To Give 90s Kids Nostalgia

As my college graduation begins to draw closer I find myself reflecting on my life more and more, especially my childhood. With the pressure to find a job after graduation weighing on me I have been clinging to happy memories from my past, when things didn't seem so adult and scary. I have been revisiting old TV shows, books, music and even toys I had when I was younger and with each item comes a rush of 90s kid nostalgia. Studies have shown that millennials are more in touch with nostalgic sensations and that companies now a days are specifically targeting our generation with advertisement aimed at evoking those feelings in us. Well, whatever they are doing is totally working. I feel like every time I turn around something from my childhood is coming back into style or being remade or re-released. There are certain things though that are sure to get every kid born in the 90s a total nostalgic buzz.

1. Nintendo 64

It didn't matter who you were, no house hold was complete without this evolutionary game console. Sure you had to take the cartridge out every once in a while and blow on it to make it work, but lets be real, that was half the fun of it.

2. Tamagotchi

What your parents bought you instead of a puppy when you asked for a pet. They were fun at first but then became way too needy for your short attention span to handle so you let them die from neglect.

3. Skip-it

The greatest form of exercise ever invented, until you missed a step and hit the concrete.

4. Block Buster

One of the most, if not the most, exciting places in the world. Movies, candy, toys, what else could a kid ask for?

5. The Rugrats

The original squad goals, those babies taught you more about life than any other show ever has.

6. M.A.S.H

You’re whole future was in the hands of your best friend as you nervously watched them cross off potential spouses, number of children, careers and types of pets.

7. Bill Nye

You knew science class was going to be lit when you walked in and saw the TV cart pulled out. The only science you learned was that Inertia is a property of matter, but at least you had fun, right?

8. Wonder Ball

“What’s in the Wonder Ball?” A potential choking hazard, but still one of the most exciting surprises you'd ever experience.

9. All That

Name a more iconic TV show, I’ll wait.

10. Hit Clips

The original iPod and greatest thing to ever happen to you and your parents ears.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
