From tips, to how we think.

10 Things from a Girl Obsessed With Makeup Wants You To Know

Here's 10 things every person obsessed with makeup wants you to know:

1- We don't wear it for you

While you may want to think I spend hours on my makeup and hair to impress you, you couldn't be more wrong. I wear makeup for my enjoyment. Maybe I wear it because I want to look good for myself. I can tell you I don't consider wearing blue eyeshadow because it's your fav color.

2- Contouring is NO joke

You may see tutorials of people contouring with different objects on the internet, however for us only semi-pro's we DO NOT play around! We do not consider "trying" to contour our nose for one day. It takes hours of careful practice of how dark to shade and where the lines should fall according to your face shape.

3-We could spend the down payment on a house at Ulta/Sephora.

There's no negotiating, we put aside money every week for our monthly makeup hall. Who needs to pay for college when you can slay your new highlight?

4- There is no "trying" something new while getting ready for an event

We do not just randomly decide to fill in our eyebrows before going to a wedding. We carefully set aside a few hours to delicately test the products, techniques, and tricks to the certain skill we are trying to master. We are not one to try something new the day of.

5- Tutorials have a special place in our heart

This is one time we could spend hours on YouTube. We could watch all of our favorite artists for hours on end. Maybe we aren't interested in trying the product/technique they're demonstrating but yet it's so fascinating.

6- Makeup is an art

It takes talent to make it all blend together and match. You have to learn the process. We don't rush the process, sometimes we need inspiration to do our makeup. We use brushes and colors and we blend and paint and color, we even draw.

7- Primer is important

You wouldn't skip it on a wall before paint, it's even more important when applying makeup. DON'T GET LAZY! Primer will keep your face moisturized and help keep your makeup on

8- Blending is IMPORTANT

Blend everywhere, you neck, your contour, your hairline, even on your ears. We blend religiously. No lines! Without blending contour's could look VERY bad, and so could our foundations, because no matter how hard we try, no shade will ever match perfectly.

9- We don't care if you don't like it

What matters is we like it, if you don't like it refer yourself to #1. We wear vibrant colors or dark eyes for our own confidence. While you may think our smokey eye looks too dark other makeup lovers will know its well-crafted.

10- New makeup= SWATCHES

If you don't swatch your new palettes then do you really even love makeup? I mean come on, swatching is the best part! Swatching is the reason makeup shopping is so fun as well! You should ALWAYS look at the "tester" makeup before buying! You want to know what you're going to get

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
