It’s amazing how fast six weeks can go by when the vast majority of personal responsibilities suddenly disappear. Back in the middle of December, as we walked out of our last final, our winter breaks seemed as if they’d never end. And yet, here we are. Break is pretty great, and watching it end definitely isn’t the most fun to do. Having said that, just because it’s almost time to go back to school doesn’t mean there’s nothing to look forward to. In fact, it’s just the opposite. Here’s a quick list of good things that come with the start of second semester.
- Seeing all of your friends for the first time in six weeks.
- Being able to go to sleep and wake up whenever you want and having it considered socially acceptable.
- Once again being surrounded by thousands of people your age after being the youngest person in every social situation over break.
- Meeting tons of new people because of your new schedule.
- Reuniting with your roommate after what feels like forever.
- Spring break isn’t really that far away.
- The fact that, even though it seems winter will never end, it will be warm again soon enough.
- Spending weekends doing something other than going out to dinner or watching a movie with your parents.
- The spring concerts that come with the season.
- 10. Second semester leads directly into summer, and if we can make it through one semester, we know we can do it again.
