Everyone who has a dog of their own or a family dog is obsessed with them. There are stages of obsession with any animal that someone gets. I know this so well because I just got a new puppy not that long ago and I am in the middle of these obsessions. These things can go for all animals, not just dogs.

1. When you first get your pet, you talk about them all the time.

2. You hate leaving them.

In all honesty, I hate leaving my pups at home. I love laying and cuddling with them way too much.

3. You always talk to them in a baby voice.

Ever since I got my puppy, I talk to them in a baby voice because to me, they are like my children. I know I am not the only one in the world that does this.

4. You have so many nicknames for your pet.

I have hundreds of different things I call my dogs other than their name. It's like a name for each mood, when you are excited to see them the name is different than when they get on your nerves.

5. You tell them about everything that happens in your life.

I come home and talk to my dogs about everything, or I have random conversations with them. When they get on my nerves, I talk to them about why they are annoying me. Sometimes my dogs like to talk back and bark at me, or make some kind of noise in response.

6. No matter how cute someone else's dog is, they will never be as cute as yours.

My mom is so guilty of this, she will see a dog and say "Oh my gosh that dog is so cute, but not as cute as our dogs," every time my mom sees a cute dog.

7. They are the hardest goodbye and your favorite hello.

I hate leaving for school and not seeing my dogs for long periods of time. When I come home I spend more time with them than I do my family because I missed them so much.

8. You will celebrate your dog's birthday as if they are a real human.

I have my dog's birthday in my calendars and I will take him to get a new toy, maybe even get him a huge treat or ice cream instead of a cake.

9. You have so many pictures of you and your dog.

I have so many pictures of my dog, it's not even funny. I think that close to every day I have one of my dogs on my snap story or I posted it somewhere.

10. You document every new thing your dog does.

Dakota went on his first family vacation with us to my best friend's wedding, and it was a first of many things for him. First time in a long car ride, first time on the beach, first time in a hotel. I was so excited.

Everyone who has a dog, or any animal for that matter, understands what I am saying. I love all my animals and I am obsessed with all of them. Here is for all the animal lovers.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
