Looking through my closet, there are 50 shades of black, gray and blue. The color black is a go to when choosing a lot of my outfits, such as a dress for an event, work clothes and every day lounging outfits. It's a simple and classic choice for everyones wardrobe, and here's why.

  1. Skinny Minnie. The number one thing almost everyone says about the color black is that it makes you look slimmer. And they're right! From leggings to shirts, I feel much more comfortable in black than some bright popping color that makes everything much more noticeable.
  2. Almost everything is available in that color. Tank tops, shoes, jeans, leggings, workout outfits, underwear, bras, dresses, etc. You name it and there's a high chance that is one of the colors that is offered.
  3. Finding that perfect matching accessory. There's no need to! Don't you hate when you have a certain color dress or outfit your planning out and jewelry is so hard to match with it? With a LBD you can wear anything. Really. Anything. Gold, silver, rose. It really doesn't matter.4. Little Black Dress. A LBD is something every woman is told they should have. And it's true. They wouldn't choose that color for nothing. Black is sexy and timeless and makes it easy for any woman to slip on and dress up.5. Make-Up Excuses. Without having a theme to follow you can do your make up from something as seductive and bold as a smokey eye to something as simple and the classic no make-up or a little winged eye liner. Dress is up or down. It works either way.6. You'll always be warm. Black absorbs heats, so you'll never be as cold as the rest.7. Smart Style. After expressing so many reasons thus far as to why the color black for a wardrobe is the way to go, it's clear as well that when shopping for anything that it's the color "go-to." And one color does it all. No need to grab the same style in another shade.8. Matching the Nail Game. I may be the only one who thinks like this, but when I get my nails done I typically choose a color that I know will match most of the clothes that I wear. All year round I tend to lead toward dark colors such as black, navy blue, army green and maroon. Once again, you can do anything if your wardrobe is on black overload. It will match your nails no matter what color you choose.9. Grab your Tide To-Go Pen... Or Not? If you spill anything on you when you wear any other color it may seem like you're saying RIP to another shirt because who knows how you'll get that red wine or spaghetti stain out? At least with a black wardrobe you can't see anything that may hint at a spill or splash on your clothes. 10. Black is Classic. From Audrey Hepburn in "Breakfast at Tiffany's" to Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham who was practically a spokeswoman for the LBD trend, it is clearly something that will never go out of style.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
