10 Things Every Girl Should Do This Summer

The semester is over and you made it through finals week. Now you have the whole summer to yourself. Below are 10 things you should do to get yourself right for the summer. These 10 tips will help you physically and mentally. Why not spend the summer bettering yourself inside and out.

1. Drink lots of water and eat a balanced and healthy diet

I mean, why not focus on getting your hair and skin right. Water is basically for everything. Try to eat some fruits and vegetables every day. Getting your hair and skin together will help boost your confidence.

2. Have a at home relaxation spa

Take some time to relax. Give yourself a facial, exfoliate and moisturize your skin. Moisturize your hair. Do your nails. This just goes with the saying, when you feel good you look good.

3. Hang out with your friends

There is nothing like having a good old girls night out and catching up. Sometimes a great conversation with friends is exactly what you need.

4. Get your money up

Yes, get your money up. Apply for some jobs, start that business you always wanted to start. Nothing else takes your mind off of being bored, than making some extra cash.

5. Take yourself on dates

That's right, take yourself on dates. I was told once that if you can't stand being alone it means that you're a boring person. So learn how to enjoy being by yourself. Something as simple as going out to eat or shopping can help.

6. Educate yourself

Read up on daily news and get a sense of what's going on in the world. Read a book and extend your vocabulary.

7. Do something you never done before

Cross something off of your bucket list. Try something new. Life is too short to live a boring life. Try to refrain from excessive use of social media and take the time to enjoy the summer. You didn't work hard throughout the semester just to let your summer go to waste.

8. Find a hobby

Keeping yourself busy is essential to getting rid of boredom. That is why a hobby is so beneficial. Try something like painting if you're artistic or a sport if you're athletic.

9. Accomplish something you never accomplished before

Anything from getting your driver's license, drinking more water, purchasing your first car. Accomplish that goal big or small. Even if it is just a small step like getting started, try to accomplish. Trust me you will feel great about it.

10. Love yourself

J. Cole said it best "love yourself girl or nobody will" . Spend this summer to show yourself how awesome you are. Remember that you come first before anyone else.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
