Winter break is finally here, finals are over and college students all over the nation are finally packing their bags and heading home for the holidays. I am so incredibly excited for the holidays, but also happy to be back at my parent's house, if only for a short period of time. It's nice to get away from your college or university for a little while. You get a break from the craziness that is college. Here are 10 things that every college student is thankful for this holiday season.
1. Real Food Instead Of Caf Food
Nobody loves their cafeteria food at their university. A home cooked meal will always be better.
2. Their Bed At Home
No matter how many mattress pads you put on your lumpy old mattress in your dorm, it will never feels as nice as your bed at home.
3. Not Having To Wear Shower Shoes At Home
You can finally go back to your clean shower and not have to worry about wearing shower shoes to avoid foot fungus or other nastiness.
4. Winter Break
Just being back home in general is a blessing.
5. Finals Being Over
I don't know about you, but finals is definitely the most stressful time of the semester. I'm so glad they're over and done with!
6. Reuniting With Friends From High School
It's nice to be able to see your old friends from your hometown.
7. No Homework...For Now.
For now, you get a break from the hours and hours of homework you were assigned from every single one of your classes.
8. Having A Room To Themselves
It's nice having a roommate, but it's also nice to have your own space sometimes. Going home means having your own space back!
9. Being Back With Their Families
It's nice to be able to be around your family again. Not only do you get a break from the work, but you get a chance to spend time with your family and relax.
10. Their Education
All in all, even though college is hard, even though it feels impossible sometimes: it's worth it. Going to college is extremely worth it in the long run no matter how stressful it is sometimes because in the end, you get through it. You graduate. You get a degree! In the end, you end up with a good job because of all the hard work you did.
