The Ultimate Summer Bucket List

Winter may be coming, but the sun will be shining soon enough.

The Ultimate Summer Bucket List

As the winter months approach, many people become seasonally depressed or emotionally stressed about the cold and snowy months ahead. Wouldn’t we all wish to return to summer where we spent days by the pool relaxing, instead of trudging through feet of snow? The best way to crack down on making it through the winter months is to think about all the great things you’ll get to do as soon as the sun comes out and the flowers bloom. Here are some of the things I hope to do come summer of 2017!

1. Hike a mountain.

You will be sweaty, and you will be exhausted, but I promise you that the view is worth it. The best part is that there are so many hiking trails around you that you have probably never explored, go adventure!

2. Stargaze.

It is true, the stars look so much more beautiful in the summer. Pick a clear night, set up a blanket on the grass, relax, and enjoy the view. Maybe you’ll even see a shooting star!

3. Go to a concert or music festival.

Go with your best friends and have as much fun as you can!

4. Take a road trip.

Even if you have no idea where to go, or no money to spend on a hotel room or food, just take a day drive with good friends and good music. Take random left turns and you’re on your way to an unforgettable adventure.

5. Go camping.

Being outside at night is so serene. You get to hear all the animals and you get to have a camp fire and toast marshmallows. Maybe you’ll even get to tell some scary stories!

6. Tie-dye shirts.

This is best to do outside, so you don’t stain your whole house! It’s also fun and there are so many different ways to fold your shirt to make some cool new patterns!

7. Watch the sunrise and sunset at the beach.

If you are lucky like me, you get to stay at the Cape for a week. The sunsets over the marshes are beautiful and the sunrise over the ocean is absolutely breathtaking. You may have to get up early but the pictures of after are amazing.

8. Have a bonfire.

There is nothing like sitting around a fire in the middle of the woods (or in your backyard) with friends just having a great time. You just hang out and talk by the warmth of the fire.

9. Go to a carnival.

Enjoy the sugary treats, and the unstable looking rides. The atmosphere is filled with energy and life, and the games are a blast!

10. Go night swimming.

My best friend’s pool is in the perfect spot for this! The air is cooler, but the water is insanely warm so you almost never want to get out!

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
