With the start of another year back at college comes dining hall food. While the food at my dining hall isn't terrible, it does get pretty boring. Eating the same grilled chicken and rice gets old, pretty quick. Over the course of my freshman year, I got pretty creative with my Nutri bullet. I didn't have a mixing bowl, so when I wanted to bake something or needed a snack my go to appliance was my blender. I made all kinds of concoctions, some good... and some not so good. But, even my worst creations were a step up from my boring dining hall routine. So, if you get bored like me, or just refuse to eat at the dining hall, check out these 10 blender recipes.

1.Brownies

YES. Ooey, gooey brownies. Not only are they delicious but they're super easy to make too. Just pop all the ingredients into a blender and hit blend. Then pour the mixture into a baking pan and set it in the over. For a healthy version of these decadent desserts check out this recipe, http://www.deliciousobsessions.com/2015/05/death-b....

2.Chocolate Avocado Mousse

I absolutely love chocolate, but I don't like all of the added sugars that come with chocolate desserts. An easy was to nix that chocolate craving is to blend avocado and melted dark together in a 1:1 ratio. The avocado becomes delightfully creamy and light for a perfect midnight snack.

3.Guacamole

Another one of my favorite foods, (as you can probably tell from the Avocado Mousse), is avocado. Avocados are not only delicious but also a source of healthy fats! Check out this easy recipe for margarita Monday, taco Tuesday, or fajita Friday! http://thebakermama.com/recipes/the-best-blender-g...

4.Hummus

Hummus is an easy way to add protein to your diet without having to eat meat. Here's a simple hummus recipe, http://allnutribulletrecipes.com/easy-nutribullet-... , but feel free to experiment with all sorts of flavors and spices.

5.Pancakes

It's Sunday morning and you have a wicked hangover. You're craving fluffy pancakes but you don't have a mixing bowl. No worries just combine all the ingredients in the blender. Once the mixture is smooth heat up your pan and get cooking! Like hummus, the amount of blender pancake recipes is never ending, so don't be afraid to try something new! Check out Jamie Oliver's take on blueberry pancakes, https://www.buzzfeed.com/christinebyrne/jamie-oliv... .

6.Muffins

I absolutely LOVE the muffins at Sacred Heart. However, what I don't always love is getting out of bed to go to the dining hall to get the muffins. With this blender muffin recipe, http://www.thetwobiteclub.com/2016/07/flourless-ba... , you'll never have to leave your room to eat delicious pastries.

7.Salsa

To go along with your blender guacamole, try making some salsa! Head over to this website for a delicious chunky salsa, http://www.number-2-pencil.com/2014/11/24/chunky-b... .

8.Smoothies

Running late? No worries, just throw frozen fruit, a liquid, and a protein in the blender for a smoothie that will keep you going all morning. This website gives you a guide on how to make the perfect smoothie, http://www.number-2-pencil.com/2014/11/24/chunky-b... . Also, try smoothie bowls for a trendy take on the average smoothie!

9.Sorbet

For when you want a sweet summer treat, try a homemade sorbet! With sweet and tangy flavors you can't resist. Added points since it's a healthier version of ice cream too! Interested in fruit sorbet? Try these recipes! http://www.theflavorbender.com/2015/09/easy-fruit-...

10.Soup

For the cold winter months when you just don't feel like leaving your bed head over to the kitchen to make a steaming hot soup. Love Panera's broccoli cheese soup? Check out this copy cate recipe!http://diethood.com/broccoli-cheese-soup/

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
