As someone who was born with naturally curly hair I've had my share of experiences with people who don't have much knowledge of curly hair. I've been asked some reasonable questions, but most of them have been really annoying to process. Hopefully my fellow curly-headed people will relate to these phrases as some are all to familiar. The struggle of having curly hair is real, especially when it comes with people asking questions that make you want to roll your eyes so hard that they pop out of your sockets. These are the most repetitive things I've heard ever since I was little and some of them may be recognizable to some curly-haired individuals.

1. "Why don't you brush your hair every morning?"

I don't know maybe it's because of this thing called frizz? Have you ever heard of it? Maybe you haven't.

2. "Oh my goodness, your hair is so frizzy!"

Yes there is also this thing called humidity and moisture. Any curly-haired person knows that even the most expensive ant-frizz products will not make this go away.

3. "So like, is that your real hair?"

No, it's actually magic. I just snap my fingers and my hair turns into an assortment of crazy straws.

4. "How do you get your hair like that?"

Have you ever heard of water? That's how. There's also this thing called genetics which helps too!

5. "You would look so much better with your hair straightened!"

I love the smell of burnt hair and split ends!

6. "Why do you use so much gel?"

Well because I don't want to look like a piece of broccoli. or even worse, a bird's nest.

7. "Why do you own so many hair products?"

Maintaining curly hair is a lot of work. There's co-washing day, deep conditioning day, de-tangling day, defusing day and don't even get me started on styling day.

8. "You don't wash your hair everyday? That's disgusting."

No, I don't. Your hair needs the natural oils in order to grow healthier. Curly hair is also dryer. If I were to wash my hair every single day, I'd be taking out all of the natural oils that my hair needs to grow. Washing your hair everyday isn't good for anyone's hair.

9. "Why are all of your products organic?"

There's these things called sulfates, parabens and dyes in regular hair products. These are all things that contribute to frizz, which is the last thing I need.

10. "You should put your hair up it looks way better than when it's down."

Excuse me? I will wear my beautiful Mufasa mane with pride.

I can't imagine not having curly hair. I hated my hair when I was younger, but now I'm not ashamed of it anymore. I love my natural hair and I've learned to embrace it. I've realized that people are going to say annoying things about my hair for the rest of my life, but that shouldn't influence me to change. Hearing things like this only encourage me to proudly wear my curls.

To all of my curly-headed friends: don't forget to glob on some deep conditioner all over your precious spirals, and you're all set for the day.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
