1. Little eyes are ALWAYS watching.
You never know who admires you. Make sure you are setting a good example.
2. IT'S JUST A RIBBON.
Placings don't matter. What does is all the hard work you've put into your project. Be proud of that. I know it's hard when your animal doesn't cooperate but keep your chin up.
3. You never know it all.
Take every opportunity to learn something from someone.
4. Be sincere.
That person showing their lamb next to you has had their own struggles. Congratulate them on a job well done even if it's not up to your standards.
5. This is the best week of the year to make memories with new and old friends.
Don't let stress make it miserable.
6. Over prepare!
It's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
7. Offer to help others.
Teamwork is important and make yourself available to that 8 year old that can't carry his shavings.
8. Be confident.
Even if you know you are going to have trouble making your horse pick up that lead, do your best and smile knowing you tried your hardest.
9. Shake the judge's hand.
They've put in a lot of work to get where they are and ultimately want you to be successful. Thank them for coming and don't be afraid to ask for tips on how to improve your showing.
10. Be attentive to your animals.
It's stressful to them and they deserved to be waited on. Check their food, water and if they're comfortable several times a day and be conscientious of their needs.
