10 Things College Students Will Actually Do Over Winter Break

The semester is finally coming to an end and winter break is right around the corner. For some of us this semester flew by, and for others we thought it would never end, but hey, at least we can say we survived! We survived but we are tired. Tired from lack of sleep, tired of campus food or lack of food in your apartment, tired of getting out of bed early, tired of spending long nights in the library, tired of being a college student. Honestly, we all just want to go home! Well lucky for us, winter break is here and we're excited! Excited to go home and see old friends, and our families. Even more excited to see our pets. Excited to finally have a break! Yeah, the first week is all fun and games, but after that here is what your winter break will actually consist of!

1. Sleep...a lot of sleep

You will probably sleep from 1 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day, or until someone forces you out of bed. When you're not sleeping, you will be thinking about sleep. Because let's face it, we never get enough sleep at school, and we need sleep. Heck, we deserve sleep.

2. Eat everything and anything

Good food made with love by people who care about you and what you're craving! After eating cafeteria food served by Barb, coming home to your mom's cooking is like winning the Super Bowl...OK maybe not that great being that you're not going to Disney World. Just make sure you pace yourselves, you'll be home for a few weeks!

3. Finish an entire show on Netflix

You will watch episodes from dawn until dusk, and probably fall asleep during a few episodes. Just make sure you pick a good series to watch!

4. Get a haircut

You needed a haircut five weeks ago, but you couldn't bring yourself to go to someone other than your hairdresser in fear that they would butcher it. It is time to pamper yourself and fix your roots. It is also time to rant and tell her about all the fun times at school.

5. Party with your hometown crowd

OK, winter break isn't as lame as I am making it out to seem. It can actually be a lot of fun if you make it to be! Partying are what college students are known for. You are finally back home with all of your friends from other schools, and what happens when you put a bunch of college students together in the same room?... Thats right, it is time to show off your pong skills that you obtained away at school.

6. Work

Your piggy bank has been running low, so now is the perfect time to go back and work while you don't need to focus on classes. Although you don't want to work you know you need to as your spring tuition bill is due soon and your debt is growing.

7. Attempt to work out

Now is the perfect time to try to start on your spring break bod... And yet, you find the couch to be a lot comfier than the thought of going to the gym to get on the treadmill or hit the weight room.

8. Mess with your schedule for next semester

Trying to get out of that Monday/Wednesday/Friday 8 a.m.? Or that dreaded Thursday 6 to 9? Now is the perfect time to work on your schedule and pray you can get it the way you want. But if you can't, pray for someone to drop...

9. Participate in winter activities

Well, if there is snow on the ground, grab the sled and hit the hills! Make a snow fort and have a snowball fight with friends! If the cold and snow's not your thing, then cuddle up inside with some hot chocolate and watch holiday movies!

10. Wait for school to start again

Lets be real -- winter break is fun, but you don’t get the freedom at home that you do when you’re in college. You were sick of college because you were looking forward to Christmas and New Year's. But after finishing your Netflix series, catching up with old friends, and stuffing your face with Mom's cookies, you're starting to miss your friends back at school. You’re ready to go back. Home was nice, but you left home to college for a reason: to study, to work hard, and to have your freedom.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
