Semesters are winding down, finals are becoming a real threat, and Christmas break is fast approaching! For those of us who are heading into finals week, the promise of break is the only thing that is getting us through the overdose of coffee, sleepless nights, and an overload of stress. Over the next few days we will study, panic and enjoy a few more late nights with our friends until we pack our bags and head home. This is a list of 10 things College students (or anyone) should do over Christmas Break!
1. Enjoy time with family
Being home is the best time to spend lazy days with your family, play board games (my parents loves board games), have family dinners and appreciating the time you have with them. This is some of the only time there is left where you have a full month to be at home and enjoy your family, appreciate it!!
2. Catch up on Sleep
Finals make us all sleep deprived, this break is for sleeping until noon, taking many naps and going to bed early snuggled up in warm blankets while its freezing outside.
3. Build up your Savings Account
Working while your home is a great opportunity to build your savings account. While at school I'm sure, if you are like me, your savings account was drained on Mexican food and textbooks so while you're home, put those extra hours in and build your savings account back up!
4. Go Ice Skating and see Christmas Lights
Go with your boyfriend/ girlfriend, go with a group of friends, or your siblings or your whole family; Ice Skating is guaranteed to bring laughs!

Christmas lights bring so much happiness, the time and effort people put in to make everything so beautiful is something to marvel at! Doesn't matter if you do the drive through ones or walk through, or you just drive around the neighborhood, Christmas Lights are a MUST this break. 5. Learn some new healthy recipes
Finding and mastering some new recipes to bring back to school is a smart thing to do. We all know when things are stressful and busy we resort to mac and cheese or ramen, so why not find some healthy recipes now to bring back!
6. Binge Watch an entire show
So while your not working or getting healthy recipes (ugh, responsibility) you should totally binge watch an entire show on Netflix. Heres a few I recommend: The Walking Dead, The Crown, The 100, Gossip Girl (classic), Army Wives and House of Cards!
7. Volunteer someplace that really needs your help
While you are home and have some extra time on your hands, look into places near you that could use volunteers. The Christmas season is especially about giving to others and what better than something that wont cost you any money, yet makes a HUGE impact.
8. Get teeth and eyes checked
While were at school the last thing on our mind is finding time to go to the dentist or the optometrist, so while you're home schedule an appointment, better to be safe than sorry!
9. Catch up with hometown friends
Remember that girl/boy that you were super close with during high school but haven't talked to much since college? Ask them to lunch, catch up with them and maybe even reconnect a friendship, what can it hurt?
10. Eat your weight in Christmas cookies
This is my favorite one, because my mom makes a plethora of cookies of all different kinds. Eat, Drink, and be Merry!
