10 Things College Students Actually Want for Christmas

Christmas time is one of the best times if you ask me. Family coming in from out of town, people putting their differences aside to spread holiday cheer and of course, letting a certain someone know all of the little presents we've had our eyes on since the last holiday. I love shopping but shopping for other people? I never know what to get them. I feel like these days everybody has everything in the world and you can never just find them the right gift. Do you break the bank and get them something extravagant that you know anybody would love or play it safe with a gift card to a store you think they'd like? Being in college, us college students are always in need for everything possible. Everything from a Wegman's gift card that could be groceries for a few weeks or a new Coach wallet for us to use for when we go out. Many things out there can be added to list for college students, here's a small list of things that would be at the top of mine.

1. Bluetooth speaker

A bluetooth speaker can always come in handy for anyone of any age. Not having to deal with all of the wires and headphone jacks, to me, is one of the best ideas anybody has ever had when it comes to a music system.

2. Apple Watch/Fitbit

You would be surprised at how much you actually walk during a typical college day. From home to class to the gym and then back home, the amount of steps is very high. Having a little gadget like an Apple Watch or a Fitbit can keep track of the steps you take and then some.

3. Personalized Coffee Mug

Personalized anything can be a great gift. A personalized to go mug is cute, totally affordable and doesn't say that you tool the cheap way out when picking out a Christmas gift. It being personalized adds a little touch to show that you're thinking about them.

4. Portable Phone Charger

All college students are always on the go and we always have our phones on us. No matter if we're listening to music, texting or using emails or apps, our batteries drain quickly. A portable phone charger is a great gift for anybody on your list!

5. Fleece Blanket

Who doesn't want to come home to a warm and fuzzy blanket that's sprawled out on their bed just begging for it to be cuddled? Blankets are so easy and so practical because they can be used all of the time and are also very affordable.

6. A Gift Card to Somewhere Special

Have someone in your life who is obsessed with a certain sport or hobby but don't just want to get them a basic gift card? Find a store specific to that sport or hobby, get them something that every person that person in that world needs and then a gift card to that sport or hobby. It shows that you put in a little more effort and paid attention to what they really are like as a person.

7. Concert Tickets

Tickets for any concert would be such an ideal present. I feel like tickets to someone's favorite concert would be yes, a bit pricey but a great present and not only that but a great experience.

8. Tablet

A great multi-purpose gift that's both practical and fun for college students. Things like note taking, photography and studying are a breeze with a tablet. Also, they're so easy to bring anywhere you go and aren't a hassle.

9. Adult Coloring Books

I absolutely love adult coloring book because they are an amazing stress reliever. Put them in your bag and color them on your break in between classes and just release some stress through the coloring. Trust me, they really help. Plus they kind of force creativity and then when you are finished with your page, you have made a beautiful picture.

10. Headphones

A great gadget to have no matter the lifestyle. I use my Beats headphones all of the time no matter what I'm doing. Working out, running to the grocery store or just getting things done around the house, my headphones are always by my side.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
