10 Things Every College Student Wants For Christmas

The Christmas we've been dreaming of all semester

We're home for break after the toughest semester yet. We're happy to be home for the holidays, and we're especially happy to be done with school work for a while. But we're tired, hungry, and the stress of the semester is still lingering, so there are a few things we'd like for Christmas that may not be on a traditional Christmas list.

1. Sleep

I'm a little bit sleep-deprived, so don't be alarmed if that's all I want to do. If I fall asleep at the dinner table, it's perfectly normal, because I haven't slept very much in the last few months.

2. Money

I've been doing my best to save money, but it still goes faster than I want it to. So yes, please help me, I'm poor.

3. Alone time

I love living in a dorm, but it's still people everywhere, all the time. So now I'd like to take advantage of the alone time I can get while I'm home.

4. Home-cooked food

The above gif demonstrates my attitude about eating over the holidays. I will eat all the home-cooked food I can find until I am full, and then I will keep eating, without shame.

5. To not talk about school

Every family member has asked me what I'm going to do with my life and how the semester went since I've been home. And the answers aren't going to change, so I get a little bit tired of talking about school after a while.

6. Clothes

Because I've been trying to save money, my clothes that need replacements have been holding on until break. So some new shoes and other clothes desperately need replacements that I'm hoping to get for Christmas.

7. Something completely unnecessary

Something that I wouldn't dare buy myself because I don't absolutely need it. Something I would feel bad about purchasing with my limited funds. I kind of want something like that for Christmas, just for funsies.

8. Time with your pet

How could I not miss the adorable little face pictured above? All I want for Christmas is to sit next to my dog and enjoy her presence.

9. Some reassurance about the future

The future is a scary place, and the semester we just underwent was a bleak reminder of that. So it would be nice to be reassured that everything will turn out alright for Christmas.

10. More Sleep

I cannot emphasize enough how much I need to catch up on sleep. I think I've taken 4 naps in the first two days of break. Just let it happen, please just let me sleep.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

eye roll

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

While this question trend can get annoying, there are a couple of pros to having RBF.

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.
