10 Lines College Guys Need To Stop Using On Girls

Seriously, stop.

This week, I asked a few of my girls for some help. I asked them the worst texts they have received in their time at college, and this is what we came up with. The "college dating experience" for women in 2017 summed up in texts we receive WAY too often... *Eye rolls into next semester*

Oh, and...

1. "Just come to my dorm"

You already know this means he doesn't actually want to hangout with you.

2. "Come thru/wyd" at 3 a.m.

Receiving this text is possibly the most annoying thing ever. Nothing says "you're one of the five girls I've been trying to get to come over tonight" more than this text.

3. "No one has to know."

NO girl wants to hear this. Ever. By saying this you're basically saying either A. I have a girlfriend B. You're one of 10 girls or C. I use women like it's my day job.

4. "You're the only girl I talk to."

Reaaaaaally. Boys, we are not that dumb. I'm sure you were planning on following it with number 5...

5. "You're not like other girls."

Every girl has heard this line, and it is the worst. Just stop.

6. *After knowing you for 5 minutes* "Babe"

Come on man, Gross.

7. *Posts a picture with a girl* "She's just a friend."

Congrats! You are officially a side chick, and that girl in that picture is the main chick.

8. "I don't really do hookups."

I don't even have to tell you that this is a lie.

9. *Insert any kind of weird brag*

Seriously, I do not want to hear about the girl you dated that made it on Barstool.

10. "I swear, I'm not a f*ckboy."

Honey, you better have already started running.

And with that...

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
