When I started watching ABC's "Grey's Anatomy," I immediately loved Christina Yang—her confidence, her intelligence, her sarcasm. I thought she was the coolest one on the show! As I continued watching each season, she became an inspiration in my life, showing me how to believe in myself, be a good friend and succeed in life. Here are just a few of the things Dr. Yang taught us during her time on Grey's.
1. Keep things real.
Friends tell friends what they need to hear, not what they want to hear.
2. Motivate others.
When someone is down, bring them back up. Remind them why they do what they do and encourage them to succeed.
3. Be confident.
People will believe in you when you believe in yourself.
4. Be bigger than the sexists.
You are more than your looks. Make sure people give you credit for all of you!
5. Be loyal to your friends.
Your person will get you through everything if you are just loyal to them.
6. Keep your priorities straight.
Food always comes first.
7. Don't worry about what other people think of you.
Who cares what other people think? Be yourself and answer to no one.
8. Have a sense of humor.
You can laugh your way through any difficult situation.
9. Strive to be your best.
Because if you aren't your working your hardest, what's the point?
10. Learn from your mistakes.
You will mess up. Just make sure you take that mistake to change what you do next time.
11. Learn how to make an exit.
When in doubt, dance it out!
