He's one of the most talked about hiphop recording artists. His iconic "3" hats are everywhere, and "Ultralight Beam" and "No Problem" are songs known by most. Here are 10 things you need to know about the beloved Chance the Rapper.

1. Chance's real name is Chancelor Jonathan Bennett.

Sounds royal, right?

2. He's from Chicago

... and he LOVES Chicago. A lot of his songs are about things he's experienced, witnessed, or felt in his city.

3. He refuses to sign with a label

He feels as if the record labels just want him for his name and not for his best interest. He makes money off of merchandise and tours.

4. Chance is nominated for 7 Grammy's in 2017

SEVEN. Best New Artist, Best Rap Performance, 3 Best Songs, Best Rap/Sung Performance, and Best Rap Album.

5. He moved to L.A. for a little bit

Here he wrote Acid Rap. He didn't like the L.A. scene very much, though. He got into drugs and lost sight of who he was, which leads to #6.

6. He moved back to Chicago shortly after

After his L.A. escapades, he moved back to his city and got back with his girlfriend, had a baby, and wrote his most recent album, Coloring Book.

7. He's known Obama since he was a kid

Chance's dad, Ken Williams-Bennett was Barack's state senator when the president was a senator in Illinois.

8. He loves Beyonce

But who doesn't honestly?? I think I would react the same way.

9. Chance the Rapper and Kanye are tight

They're both from Chicago. They collaborated on Ultralight Beam. Chance helped write "Famous" (the one that started all the beef between Taylor Swift and Kimye.) Yeah they're pals.

10. He loves the Lord

Last but not least, Chance is all about him some Jesus. I could talk about this one all day, but long story short, most of his songs in Coloring Book have God as a theme. Chance is very outspoken about his love for the Lord.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing!
