10 Things Better Than Boys

Boys are great and I love them; but we all know sometimes they kinda suck.

I tend to use the word love a lot, especially when it is pertaining to boys, but there's also many things that I love more and that are much better than boys.

Puppies

They cuddle whenever you want, they don't ask for sex or cheat on you. They don't care what you're watching on TV, and they will always watch it with you.

Workout clothes

No matter what brand, we all go to class in our workout clothes more than we go to the gym in them. They make you look like you workout, even if you don't, so why not let boys think that? Trick those little devils (also, yoga pants make your butt look good).

Ice cream

Because how can you not like laying in bed with a big container of ice cream?!

Shopping

It is a form of therapy, and not a therapy where you have to talk about your feelings. Everyone has their favorite items to buy, so go out and spoil yourself a bit.

Big t-shirts

As girls, we all know that there is no better feeling at night than climbing into a warm bed with only an oversized t-shirt and underwear on.

Girlfriends

Boys are so overrated sometimes; find a good group of girls and never take advantage of them. Do not choose boys over them either because when those boys hurt you, they will be the only ones there for you.

Baths

If you don't already take baths then I would highly recommend. Whether it is with candles, lots of bubbles, or bath bombs, turn on some music and take a little time for yourself; I promise you will feel so much better after.

Cruising

Turn on your favorite playlist, turn it all the way up and just drive. Scream the lyrics at the top of your lungs and dance in your seat. You'll be surprised how good it feels.

Self love

Because loving yourself is so much more satisfying than loving boys because they just play with your heart in the end.

Pizza

There are so many kinds and so many ways to eat it; try a different one each day, and I promise you'll always be happy and never get bored like you would with a dumb boy.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Whether you're commuting or dorming, your first year of college is a huge adjustment. The transition from living with parents to being on my own was an experience I couldn't have even imagined- both a good and a bad thing. Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
