1. She taught us to stand up for ourselves

Mia took the opportunity to stand up for herself after all of the times she was teased, laughed at, and sat on. She made girl power look easy, teaching us that no one is invisible.

2. She taught us that it's OK to break the rules.

Having a not-so-normal life is basically every one of us out there. However, not all of our grandmothers come to visit us with a tiara and limousine waiting for us, calling us princesses. If they do, they're probably not serious. Although Mia ended up being a ruler of Genovia, she never left her roots, and she taught us that it's OK to have a little fun.

3. She taught us that bad hair days are not the end of the world.

I mean, right after this, she had tea with the queen and became a princess. So, not every day when we feel like our hair will be the worst of us will we end up with a bad day. Although, we could all use a little Paolo, Helga and Gretchen for a makeover every now and then.

4. She taught us that boys like "Josh Bryant" are totally not worth it.

Come on, he is the cliche high school crush, proving that those boys aren't worth it. Just because he has nice hair and an ego bigger than his sail boat, doesn't mean he deserves your first kiss. I mean, seriously, Josh asked Mia for a foot rub... We all need a Michael Moscovitz to see us when we feel invisible.

5. She taught us about the "foot popping" kiss.

Although Mia wanted to perfect her "foot pop" for her first kiss, we all knew Josh Bryant wasn't the one when her foot was caught in the net. Michael owned that kiss, and she totally nailed the foot pop for the most romantic moment of all time.

6. She taught us that safety usually comes first.

Mia is more than clumsy, which makes us feel a little bit better about ourselves when we mess up. She is accident prone, but there is always something good that comes out of it. Like the coronation of the officers who were called to the scene of the trolley bus incident. She taught us that, when mistakes are made, you get up, move on and learn from them.

7. She taught us to have fun with not-so-fun things.

The whole time of "princess training," she was learning how to become a proper, put-together and professional young lady. Lucky for her, she has a fun personality, which made her dramatic life seem a little less intimidating. She taught us to relax and have fun when life isn't.

8. She taught us that it's OK to cry.

Not everything is going to be easy, and sometimes it is too hard to hold back tears. Mia taught us that a good cry can help ease the pain, giving her a better chance to then stand up for herself.

9. She taught us that we all need a cat like Fat Louie.

Pets are the best listeners, and with a sassy cat like Fat Louie, we can all use a bit of a venting session with someone else who won't fight back. Also, Fat Louie is the best movie cat ever, so who wouldn't want one?

10. She taught us that anyone can be a princess...if we really have to be.

Mia wasn't Lana when the position of becoming Princess of Genovia opened up. If she were, it would have been too easy. So, if being a princess is in your near future or, let's say, if a huge amount of responsibility is coming your way in the next few years, such as adulthood, don't be discouraged. Take it step-by-step and you will make it.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
