The thrill. The excitement. The suspense. The agony. Shopping for makeup can be a difficult and emotional trip. Trust me. Whether you’ve been waiting on that one foundation to be released for months now, or you just can’t decide which Kat Von D lipstick to purchase next, shopping for makeup can get very real. Countless trips to Sephora and MAC are just never enough if you’re a makeup addict—you’ve always got to have the next big thing (even if you already have a stockpile of makeup at home). If you happen to be a makeup addict (no shame in your game), these are some feelings you can probably relate to:
1. When you want to swatch a product but there’s no tester:
Like seriously, if I can't swatch every lipstick color on my hand, is it even a real makeup trip?
2. Waiting on MAC to start a rewards program:
Wait for it... Wait for it...
3. When you realize MAC started a rewards program:
Hallelujah!
4. When you become a VIB at Sephora:
There is no better feeling in the world than being recognized for your reckless spending habits. Thank you for the appreciation, Sephora. Like I said before, no shame.
5. When you find out you can sample products at MAC and Sephora:
I never have to buy foundation again, I thought to myself as I asked for my sixth sample of the new Nars foundation.
6. When the product you've been waiting to buy online for months sells out in two minutes:
What kind of cruel world is this?! Was I not the only one that knew this was coming out?!
7. When someone says, "Don't you already have that lipstick/eyeshadow/blush color?"
Clearly, this red lipstick is different from the last red lipstick I bought. Clearly.
8. When people say that a cheaper product is a dupe for a high end product:
No. Just no.
9. When people judge you for spending over $50 on one makeup product:
For the last time, no shame in my game.
10. When JCPenney's Sephora doesn't carry as many products as a regular Sephora:
Is this a sick joke?
Being a makeup addict is a tough job. It takes a brave soul to truly embark on the journey that is makeup shopping. But, hey, don't let anyone cramp your style. Keep spending the funds on the face, girl!
