Have you ever noticed that sometimes the best fictional characters aren't the stars of the show, but the parents? It's okay to admit that you've probably wished for a mother daughter relationship like Lorelai and Rory Gilmore or for zany parents like Bob and Linda Belcher. We watch these shows for the characters but then find ourselves hoping that these parents would adopt us.

Here's a list compiled of the greatest fictional parents:

1. Michael Bluth — "Arrested Development"

Even during all of the antics and chaos the Bluths go through, Michael always tries to make time for his son. Michael is set on raising George Michael as an honest and compassionate kid and shows his love in as many ways possible.

2. Lorelai Gilmore — "Gilmore Girls"

Lorelai and Rory Gilmore have the most iconic mother daughter relationship. They're practically best friends. Lorelai wants to be involved in Rory's life as much as possible and is always there to help and guide her daughter along the way.

3. Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl — "The Incredibles"

This is the most badass superhero family to ever exist. While fighting crime Bob and Helen teach their kids of the importance of morals and how to use their superpowers. They will do anything for the safety of their kids, even if it puts themselves in danger.

4. Bob and Linda Belcher — "Bob's Burgers"

Bob and Linda are not the most conventional parents, but that doesn't mean they can't be some of the best. They are always supportive of their kids and their dreams, because both Linda and Bob are trying to live their dreams too. Linda's endless encouragement and Bob's practicality provide a perfect balance for Tina, Louise, and Eugene.

5. Phil and Claire Dunphy — "Modern Family"

Claire and Phil Dunphy do everything they possibly can to relate to their kids. As Haley, Alex, and Luke have grown up it's been difficult to for Claire and Phil to always be on their top game, but nothing can stop these parents. They love their kids and each other with all their heart and their endless family antics shows it.

6. Cameron Tucker and Mitchell Pritchett — "Modern Family"

Along with Phil and Claire, Mitchell and Cameron are great parents too! Mitchell's practicality and realistic nature counters Cam's imaginative free spirit. They are great parents to their daughter Lily because they complete each other.

7. Alan and Amy Matthews — "Boy Meets World"

Alan and Amy are always there for their children when they need their parents. But more importantly, Alan and Amy don't coddle their children. They let their children make mistakes and help those mistakes while also learning how to move forward.

8. Danny Tanner, Jesse Katsopolis, and Joey Gladstone — "Full House"

Now Danny, Jesse, and Joey are probably the least conventional set of parents on TV. Jesse and Joey didn't know what they were in for when they agreed to help raise three girls. The three men played every role they could for DJ, Stephanie, and Michelle and gave them all the guidance, support, and love they could ever receive.

9. Jesse and Becky Katsopolis — "Full House"

Jesse wasn't only a father figure to the Tanner girls. After meeting Rebecca it seemed that Jesse's life had finally fallen into place. He was still pursuing music, but he could also have an amazing family. Jesse and Rebecca are phenomenal parents to their twin boys — and to DJ, Stephanie, and Michelle too!

10. Marlin — "Finding Nemo"

Marlin is a great Disney dad. He raised young Nemo all on his own and then swam through practically the entire ocean just to find him. With that dedication and love, you bet he's on this list.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
