I think we all can agree that some of the best movies came from the 80’s. Here’s a list of all my favorites. If you haven’t seen them, watch them immediately.
1. The Breakfast Club (1985)
I don’t know a single person who HASN’T seen this movie. But if you’re the exception to that, watch it immediately. It’s funny and sad, but it’s got an iconic ending. Also, the cast is amazing. Molly Ringwald is iconic.
2. Pretty In Pink (1986)
I have no regrets about listing a second Molly Ringwald movie. She’s such an amazing actress. I love her so much.
3. Dirty Dancing (1987)
Everyone loves a good love story. Baby and Johnny’s forbidden love gives the movies a Romeo and Juliet vibe, without the suicide.
4. Top Gun (1986)
Two words: Tom Cruise
5. Footloose (1984)
I love this movie because it’s a movie about a guy fighting against the system. Ren starts a revolution with Ariel and the gang by his side.
6. Labyrinth (1986)
This one is self explanatory. Also, David Bowie was so amazing in this role.
7. Risky Business (1983)
Oh, Tom Cruise. How I love that man. This is the movie that put Tom Cruise on the map. It also produced the iconic scene where Cruise slides into the room in a dress shirt and underwear.
8. The Outsiders (1983)
I talked about the book in my last article and I usually don’t like movies as much as I liked the book, but I loved this movie. Also, Tom Cruise AND Patrick Swayze are both in it. They’re both amazing. “Stay gold, Ponyboy.”
9. The Shining (1980)
I haven’t seen the last 20 minutes of it, but the majority of it was good. A bit weird, but good.
10. Sixteen Candles (1984)
I started with Molly and I’m ending with Molly.
