10 Thank You's To My College Friends

This is to the friends who managed to keep me sane in my first year of college.

10 Thank You's To My College Friends

In college you're bound to meet people that drive you absolutely crazy and piss you off from time to time. But if you're lucky, those same people will be the ones that you rely on for everything. They'll be the ones you can go to when you run out of snacks in your dorm room, and the ones that don't make fun of you for not ever putting away your clean laundry. Too often, we take these people for granted but these are ten things I want to thank my college friends for.

1. Never turning down Domino's at midnight

We've all been there ... the 1 am cravings. Without your friends, these late-night cravings can seem a little pathetic. I mean, how many of us want to admit that we ordered two large pizzas, some buffalo wings, and a two-liter soda for ourselves? Food comas are always better when shared with friends. So thank you for never turning down a midnight pizza, and for always ordering the lava cakes when I forget to.

2. Motivating me

Whether it's motivation for the gym, motivation to write the paper I've been putting off, or even just motivation to get out of bed for class, thank you for making me do it. As much as I may hate doing it in the moment (especially going to the gym), your encouragement and motivation always helps me get it done and without it, I'm not sure I would have passed chemistry.

3. Understanding my sleep schedule

I think this speaks for itself. Thanks for understanding that when you text me at 9, I may be fast asleep by 9:01, and for never questioning the hours that I sleep, even when they aren't reasonable whatsoever. And also for understanding that when I say I'm taking a quick nap, that will most definitely mean two hours.

4. Having terrible dance moves

I can't even count how many times we've witnessed each other during random dance parties, and I can't thank you enough for having equally terrible dance moves. Whether it's doing head bobs or just flailing our arms around, I appreciate you for never making fun of my dance moves and for always joining in on my dance parties.

5. Letting me drag you places

From trivia nights to events on campus and going to the store, everything is better with friends! Thanks for letting me drag you out to get food at 10 pm when all you wanted to do was sleep, or after you already showered for the night and didn't want to leave your room.

6. Taking care of me

With all of the countless times that I've been sick and was insisting I would probably die if I didn't have your help, or all of the times that I was homesick and wanted attention, I'm surprised you didn't just move in with me. I can't thank you enough for always being so reliable and never failing to take care of me when I needed it most.

7. Listening to all my drama

On the days when I couldn't stand my teachers, or the days when nothing was going right, thank you for putting up with all of my complaining and whining. Even though I'm stubborn and never wanted to take your advice, I appreciated the input and I'm so thankful that you were there to help me get through the worst days.

8. Being the best wingmen

There's no doubt about it. You guys make me seem a thousand times cooler than I ever would alone. Without you in social situations, I'm so incredibly awkward and anti-social. But thanks to you guys talking me up and breaking me out of my shell, I somehow landed a pretty cool boyfriend.

9. Mothering me at one point or another

We've all gotten to that point where you don't feel like being a responsible adult. That means letting your laundry pile up for a week, not taking out your trash for a few days, and sometimes not even showering for a couple of days. But thanks to you, it never got out of hand. Whether it took you scolding me or physically having to help me clean, you never failed to treat me just like my momma would back home.

10. All of the endless memories

Finally, thank you for all of our memories. The good laughs, the meltdowns before finals, the days when we couldn't stand each other. All of it made my first year of college something to remember and I'm so thankful that we met!

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Syllabus Week As Told By Kourtney Kardashian

Feeling Lost During Syllabus Week? You're Not Alone!

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.
