Bustle

Summer is the best time to open those books that you bought over a year ago swearing you would read but never did. As a kid, we all thought of summer reading as a dreadful task teachers would give because they thought we had nothing better to do with our time. But ultimately they thought we would enjoy it as kids...wrong! Now that I am older, I have found a new appreciation and love for reading books in my spare time. With so many new and upcoming authors out there, there are so many different books to choose from. Here is a list of books that anyone can enjoy this summer!

5. The Rumor by Elin Hildebrand

This book is the story of two best friends who spend their summer in Nantucket. Their life seems picture-perfect, but something has changed in Nantucket this summer. With every cocktail comes a new rumor. The rumor of the summer is that both of these seemingly perfect friends are living a life that is far different from their reality. As the gossip escalates, they face the possible loss of the happy lives they've worked so hard to create. Grace and Madeline desperately try to set the record straight in the town. But they may be in deeper than they think.

4. The Life We Bury by Allen Eskers

A college student has an assignment due for his English class that has him interview a stranger and write a biography on him. Joe Talbert finds a subject, Carl Iverson, in a nursing home. Joe doesn't think that this man will be of an interest to him, but he was definitely wrong. Carl was a Vietnam veteran who spent 30 years in prison for rape and murder charges. But he can't seem to write about this man who did the unthinkable. As Joe becomes closer to Carl, he starts unraveling the truth about his story, but is there still enough time to clear his name?

3. 100 Days Of Happiness by Fausto Brizzi

What would you do if you had only 100 days to live? Wealthy Lucio Battistin thought he had it all together until he didn't. Hehas hit rock bottom and knows the only way is up. He learns that sometimes when you lose everything, thats when you truly gain everything. He spends his last 100 days making them count. Find out more on how he makes the worst worthwhile.

2. You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life by Jen Sincero

This book is to help people improve their lives but don't want to get busted while doing it. Jen Sincero writes in her witty sense on how to be the best version of yourself. By the end of the book you’ll understand why you are how you are, how to love what you can’t change, how to change what you don’t love, and how to use The Force to kick some serious ass.

1. Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

Jojo Moyes wrote the book before the movie. This knockout love story is about Lousia Clark who is moving to her next job to help her family financially. She cares for Will Traynor, and her attitude is challenged while caring for him. Will is extremely wealthy and paralyzed from the waist down. Louisa changes the way Will looks at life. His cynical ways go out the window because of her love of life she shows him. They both grow fonder and deeper of each other while changing each others' lives each day.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.
