Summer might be coming to a close, but there are still a few summer adventures you can get in in these last few weeks!

1. Kayak/Canoe

Plenty of places are still taking trips for the summer! River Town Adventures in Lansing has trips for anyone with any level of experience and priced affordably.

2. Go berry picking

I know most people associate fall with picking fruit, but there are plenty of ripe strawberries and blueberries in the area that you can pick. Check out Michigan Farm Fun to find some near you!

3. Go on a bike ride

Hop on your bike and ride. You could ride around campus, bike the River Trail, or anywhere your heart desires. Just make sure your bike is in shape before you leave.

4. Swim in a lake

There are plenty of state parks with beaches here in Michigan, but if you don't want to drive you can always check out local parks like Lake Lansing South and Hawk Island. Bonus: both have boat rentals too!

5. Go to a water park

East Lansing Family Aquatic Center is open to the public (at a cost of course), but there are plenty of other water parks around the state or in Ohio if you're willing to drive. Granted this one is a little more costly but still worth it.

6. Go on a hike

There are trails all over Michigan and even right here in Lansing like at Fenner Nature Center that you can hike for free!

7. Go hammock

Take your hammock, find a spot, and enjoy the great outdoors from the comfort of your hammock.

8. Go to a ball game

Because who doesn't love the classic American pastime?

9. Go to a fair

There are still plenty of fairs and events going on throughout the month of August.

10. Read one last book

You know how you told yourself you would read more in the summer? Yeah, do that now.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
