10 Struggles All Quiet People Know

Shy, introvert, meek, quiet; Whichever word you use to describe it, there is always one of us in the group. Here are ten moments quiet people most likely know all too well.

When you were little your parents thought there was something... ”wrong” with you: No social or anxiety disorders, just quiet mom.

Needing time alone is seen as being antisocial: Not being antisocial, I've just used up all of my extrovert-coins for the day.

People think you aren't interested in what they are saying: It’s not that I don’t care what you’re saying, it’s just I don't have a response right now, check back later.

It is not so easy making new friends: People usually think you’re boring or don’t have much of a personality which isn’t true, it just takes some time for that personality to come out.

Talkative people can be slightly annoying: It’s okay, you’ve spoken for twenty minutes now, we don’t need anymore.

The term “awkward silence” has no meaning: It’s okay to be quiet sometimes, not every moment has to be full of empty conversation.

People are actually surprised when you have strong opinions: I have a brain and thoughts too, I just choose not to vocalize them all of the time.

You can come off as cold: People tend to assume quiet people are stuck up or think they’re better than everyone else. Not true, some of us are just naturally not talkative.

Confrontation is the worst: Server got your order wrong at the restaurant? Looks like that’s what you’re eating tonight.

No one listens to you: Extroverts tend to talk over people or speak as soon as someone else has finished talking, while the quiet people take time to absorb what everyone is saying, no need to rush to make your response!

Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
