There's not a lot to hide from your friends that have been around for it all (aka pre-puberty). The friends you pick up as you get older have no idea who you once were and even you tend to forget (I made sure of that from deleting and untagging myself from every embarrassing picture in existence). I used to be embarrassed, but now I'm able to look back and laugh at the chubby/awkward kid I once was...(Okay, still am...) With that being said, I hope you can relate to my struggles growing up that I recovered from the dark recesses of my memory.
1. Breaking a sweat trying to fit into the clothes at Limited Too.
These bedazzled jeans really complement my muffin top.
2. When you finally graduated to Abercrombie and Fitch and discovered those clothes were even tighter.
Excuse me, do you have a size larger than negative infinity?
3. The ultimate satisfaction of finding clothes that fit just right and doing a victory dance.
Mom, can we celebrate by getting McDonald's on the way home?
4. Getting a boy’s attention was hard…to say the least.
Oh my god Sam, did you see that? Nick just looked at me!
5. When you can’t pull off a killer Halloween costume, no matter how hard you tried.
I kind of look like Hannah Montana ate Hannah Montana.
6. Feeling like a hippo next to your skinny friends.
Which one of these is not like the other…
7. Always, always, always having to “suck it in.”
No more pictures, please. I can't breathe.
8. Even when you grow into your body and lose the baby fat, your old friends will never let you forget how chubby you were all out of... love? I think.
"Omg remember that time in the seventh grade…"
9. When your newer friends/significant other stumble across old pictures, they are profoundly shocked.
That’s you?! As I Snapchat everything.
10. At the end of the day, it’s something funny to look back on and laugh at. You were chubby and fabulous and have simply grown into a better version of yourself.
That chubby girl inside me will always want that second piece of cake, though…
