Imagine you’re in a car with all of your closest friends. You are handed the AUX cord and told to put on some “cool jams." Now, a normal person would play something popular in the moment. Miley Cyrus, Drake and Beyoncé are all acceptable first choices when you’re just getting a feel for the people’s moods in the car. Everyone is jamming until you decide to take a risk and play a song from your favorite Broadway show.
Party is over, friends, but this is the least of our problems.
1. No one ever knows that song you’re singing so dramatically and emotionally.
2. On the off-chance they do know it, they refuse to sing along because they think it's embarrassing.
3. That means that you are left to sing every single part by yourself.
4. The show you so desperately wanted to see has announced it is closing before you will ever make it to New York.
5. Also, why are tickets so expensive?
6. When you do finally get tickets to the show you’re dying to see, the original cast announces its departure about 15 minutes later.
7. Luckily, there is usually a phenomenal touring company...
8. Unfortunately, they are never going to come to a city even remotely near yours.
9. You’re the only one that laughs at your theatre jokes.
10. When you say you love musicals, everyone automatically assumes your favorite musical is "Wicked"...
