Being tall and attending college can be a challenge. When making standard dorm-room bed frames and classroom desk sizes, architects and builders do not seem to keep in mind students with tall frames. All tall college students have to deal with these struggles on a daily basis:
1. Small desks that are too close together KILL your knees.
How are my legs supposed to fit here?
2. When the person sitting in front of you gives you a dirty look because your knees keep touching the back of their chair.
Um, excuse me, sir, where do you expect me to put my legs? Get over it!
3. You can't hide behind other students to avoid getting called on by your professor.
4. When you meet new students/fellow peers and they feel the need to point out that you are SO TALL.
Thank you, I had no idea that my height was so outlandish until you pointed it out.
5. Having those same students/peers then ask how tall you actually are.
Why does it matter? If my six-foot
6. You can’t sleep comfortably on the dorm bed because your legs are too long.
My legs knock stuff over on my desk every night. Why can't beds be longer?
7. When you’re walking to class in the rain and other people’s umbrellas hit you in the forehead.
There's nothing more irritating than a whack to the forehead by arrogant shorties around you.
8. The struggle of walking behind a slow, short person in front of you without tripping over them.
Can you just stay in your lane so I can get around you?
9. When you stand up straight in a bathroom stall and people can see enough of your head and face to recognize you.
Short people will never suffer from this issue.
10. The showers are too small for your tall frame.
It would be nice to have the shower head above my head, but apparently, that's too much to ask for.
