It's finally winter break, and many students, myself included, find that they have adopted a very different sleeping schedule than everyone else in their house. These are the top 10 struggles of being a night owl when your family goes to bed early.

1 . Trying to figure out what you're going to do with yourself all night.

True, you only wanted to sit on the couch and watch TV with them anyway, but it's nice to have someone to sit with.

2. Feeling like ships passing in the night.

You sit home all day, they go to school and work. You eat dinner together, you leave because you have plans and when you get back they're all in bed. It's like you barely live in the same house because you see each other so little.

3. Trying to be quiet as you slink around the house.

You obviously can't just sit in your room all night, but it's 3AM and everyone else is sleeping so you tip toe across the kitchen as you make your late night ramen.

4. Wanting to leave to meet your friends.

You could leave and go meet your friends somewhere, but it's inevitable that if you do, your mother will wake up and freak out because you're gone. Then she will not go back to bed until you're home. It's a bad situation for all involved.

5. You finally do fall asleep.

You finally fall asleep at about 4:30, but you wake up at 5:30 because you can hear everybody getting ready for work/school.

6. When you use the bathroom you think you're going to be murdered

Okay this one might just be me, but whenever I think I here footsteps in the hallway I automatically think it's an axe murderer coming to get me and not my brother sleepily trying to find his way to the bathroom.

7. You finish entire seasons of shows in one night.

I breezed through Gilmore Girls and the reunion in less than a week while home on break because there's NOTHING ELSE TO DO ALL NIGHT.

8. You clean.

Again, also probably just me, but I found myself scrubbing the toilet at 2AM last night because I don't even know why.

9. Wondering who else is awake.

Somebody else has GOT to be awake right now, but you don't want to text anyone because what if you wake them and then they get cranky and hate you? It could happen.

10. Giving up and getting into bed.

I give up. I'll snuggle in bed with netflix until I die. Or until Christmas. Whichever comes first.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
