It is the week after Thanksgiving break for students everywhere. As if motivation wasn't hard enough to find, now you've just come off of several days at home, and you're expected to be 100% focused again. And some of your teachers probably even have some sort of assignment due really soon, because obviously what else could you be doing over break, other than their homework?? Well I'm here to tell you you're not alone. Here are 10 struggles that all students face this time of year:

1. Finding motivation to do even the smallest task

Literally, it doesn't matter if you're trying to make a phone call or write a paper- you just can't.

2. Running out of everything

School supply shopping happened months ago, but you're still going strong. You're just going strong without any pens or paper or... anything really.

3. Also running out of money to buy or do anything

Not only do you not have any things, but you have no money to buy new things. Or entertain yourself. Or do anything.

4. Having 4349589 assignments due at the exact same time

Lets face it, teachers are human beings too, so they tend to get a little behind. However, instead of condensing their lessons and assignments, all of them pile tons of assignments and information into the last couple weeks to save their own behinds.

5. Having zero concept of time

As if the whole "falling back" an hour thing didn't mess us all up enough, not sleeping, losing hours to assignments, and taking midday naps just has everyone losing the entire concept of time.

6. Juggling between not eating and eating way too much

So you've either not left your dorm for 48 hours working on a project, or you're in the caf wallowing and stress-eating over the project you finally finished. There seems to be no in-between this time of year.

7. Trying to remember what it's like to have friends

Well you're busy, your friends are busy...and odds are your schedules don't match up, because that would be too easy. So just take a deep breath and wave at them from across the library.

8. Not knowing how to dress whatsoever

In the morning, it's cold. In the afternoon you are sweating in a t-shirt and shorts. Then at night it's arctic again. What are you even supposed to wear???

9. Being stressed 24/7

Finals are around the corner. You have a few weeks to get your grades up. Your social life is super busy for the holidays. Ugh, the list goes on.

10. Thinking about how much you're going to miss your school when you go home for winter break

No matter how crazy and hectic and stressful school can be, you still kind of miss it when you go on break. So enjoy your last few weeks at school so you can enjoy your break even more!

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
