I live in Southeast Arkansas. Like so many, we fit the stereotype of, "There's a snowstorm coming, better go buy the bread and milk!" Here are the ten stages of prepping for a snowy winter in the south.

1. Watching the weather but staying calm

2. Talking to your friends, gathering opinions

3. Checking your pantry to see if you have all the ~necessities~

4. Mentally and physically preparing yourself to go to the store

5. Beating that Nancy woman to the bread aisle because your kids come first

6. Finally getting home and checking the weather AGAIN

7. Watching those first few flakes of wintery goodness fall outside your window

8. Expecting feet and getting mere inches of snow

9. Enjoying your warm fireplace, complete with hot chocolate and movies

10. Watching the snow melt three hours after it fell and realizing all that was for naught
