Junior Year: Time to freak out about the inevitable future.

Junior year is debatably the worst year of a college career. The thoughts of graduate schools and the impending doom of the realities of life are inevitable. You've spent years in school, but now you only have one more left. The adult life everyone has warned you about is just around the corner and you're freaking out. Trust me when I say you're not alone.

1. Everything distracts you. Homework? Studying? What is that? Let's not study and say we did.

At this point, everything has the power to distract you. Pinterest pins, GIFs, memes... anything to distract you from what you should be doing.

2. Then, when you finally do your work, you wait until the last second and are in full panic mode.

You hate yourself for waiting so long to start the work, but you don't regret what you did to distract yourself from completing it. That night out was totally worth it to you.

3. You become desperate for a B, or even a C. Anything is better than failing at this point.

You just want to get through college and graduate on time, no matter what that means. The whole "C's get degree's" mentality has really settled in your mind.

4. In the midst of procrastinating, you think of every possible outcome of your life.

Everything runs through your mind. From being that crazy cat lady to being the mom with tons of kids running through your house- either way, it's overwhelming and slightly unrealistic.

5. You come across pictures of freshman year and see how much weight you actually gained. Freshman 15? Check.

The freshman 15 is a real thing. Unfortunately, it just keeps going down hill from there.

6. But then you remember all the times you went out with your friends and ate ice cream and cookies, and you don't even care you've doubled your pants size since freshman year.

All of the late night drives to insomnia cookies laughing with your friends are so worth the extra chub you got. You made memories and new friends- that's all that really counts, right?

7. You realize this is one of your last chances to find a guy to settle down with. Ring by spring used to be a joke, but now it's a reality.

When this hits you, you freak out a little bit. You over think long glances with the opposite sex and you especially over think anyone who has even the slightest bit of potential.

8. By this point, most of the good guys have been taken because you waited so long to settle down.

All of the good guys seem to be taken. All of the guys you could have been with already found their princess. Now you're stuck kissing the frogs instead.

9. Your friends remind you graduating college should be the number one priority. After all, you're almost there.

Just when you start to lose sight of your current season of life, your friends are there to remind you of what's really important in your life. They're there to re-prioritize your life.

10. You realize you and your best friend from freshman year are going to be separate for the first time ever. You realize you may move hours away from each other, and as a result- you start spending all of your time with them.

Everyone has at least one person from college they are going to miss. Graduation is right around the corner, and so is your first real separation from your best friend. Try not to cry.

11. Then it hits you: This is the final stretch. After this, you only have two semesters left and you're done.

Just a few more months until no more studying, no more tests, no more school. Although junior year is hard, you are almost there. You're starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Junior year seems to be the hardest year of college, but when you finish junior year, remind yourself you only have two more semesters to go. Encourage yourself to go out on a limb sometimes and make some memories you won't forget. As Frankie Ballard says "How am I ever gonna get to be old and wise if I ain't ever young and crazy?" Enjoy college and try not to freak out like most of us are. You got this.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
