1. The Optimistic Stage
This is the stage that you have waited for all summer. You can't wait to see all your friends and decorate your new room. This is the stage where your mind set is a lot like this: "It's move-in day! Nothing could go wrong! I have all my stuff together and everything organized! Yeah! Moving!"
2. Overly Zealous Stage
This is the stage where you pull up to your new crib and imagine how perfect everything is going to be. You already texted everyone to come over because you're so excited.
3. Overwhelmed Stage
You look at all of your stuff and then look in your room. Where is all of this going to go? Not to mention, you also have to listen to your parents yap about how they told you that you didn't need so much stuff.
4. Dump-and-Go Stage
This is the stage where everyone likes to throw things and dump your valuables that they like to refer to as "crap" in a massive chaotic pile.
5. Sorting Stage
As you're sitting on your floor staring at the massive pile of furniture and clothes, you start trying to put everything in order. Dresser goes here, bed goes there; things are coming together.
6. Downhill Stage
This is the worst stage. Everything that could go wrong does. "Where's the hammer? I thought you brought it?" "Did someone grab my hangers? No!" Tensions run high in this stage, and everyone just wants to fight each other.
7. Breakdown Stage
"I'm just going to sit here and cry because no one has a sense of style! Does no one understand my vision for my room?!" Nothing is put together and the instructions to put your bed together isn't in English. The world hates you.
8. Over It Stage
This is the stage where you don't care what or where anything goes. You're just so over it.
9. Getting It Together Stage
You put on your adult pants and are getting things done. You sound like a drill sergeant barking orders to make everything perfection.
10. Accomplished Stage
You have reached that moment when you've finally finished putting together your bed, dresser, and closet. You laid down the final rug and made your bed. You are finally finished and your room is a masterpiece that should be on display at Belk. All the tears, sweat, and bickering was worth it.
