When you first move home from college, there is a sense of relief. Goodbye cafeteria food, finals and smelly dorms, and hello, home cooked meals and some much needed R&R.

1. When you first get home.

You did not realize how much you missed your own bed until you saw it in all of its "this is not a rock hard XL twin bed" glory.

2. First home cooked meal.

Ramen and Red Bull just can not compare to Mom's butter and garlic mashed potatoes.

3. Unpacking.

Although you have lived here before, you seem to not be able to find a place for anything and the task is not exactly pleasant. You, also, now realize how much junk you accumulated throughout the school year that holds a "sentimental value" like your eight new school t-shirts that do not fit or your torn foam finger.

4. Not knowing where anything is anymore.

Well I know that shirt was in the red shoe box in the back of my closet on the left side behind my textbooks in my apartment...

5. When mom mentions your chores you escaped by going to college.

Wait someone is checking I made my bed now? I have to unload the dishwasher again?

6. Trying to not run into someone from high school at the grocery store or mall who wants to "catch up" for 20-minutes.

I love answering the same four questions to everyone I see for the first month I am home:

"How is school?"

"Did you make friends?"

"No crazy parties yet right?"

"Still maintaining that 4.0?"

7. Realizing college friends are all so far away.

When you are used to spending all day every day with your best friends, leaving them is not fun. No longer can you shout down the hall to find a buddy for lunch, you will just find the dog.

8. Actually missing campus food.

I did not think I could stomach another sandwich from our on-campus Chick-fil-A, now I am craving one with a side of waffle cut fries more than anything.

9. Being bored.

You looked forward to some free time to relax and to not have to worry about classes and club activities, but now you do not know what to do with all of your freedom.

10. Waiting for school to start again.

Only 114 days till I get to move in with my friends again and go back to the best place on earth.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
