You know you're a real adult (almost) when you go grocery shopping for yourself every week. Ok, probably not every week because let's face it, you hold onto your food for as long as you can to avoid having to go back. Either way, there are a few things that certainly happen every time you walk through the aisles of Shoprite. If you're a college student or you're just always perplexed by the grocery store, you might feel this listicle on a spiritual level. So, here it goes: the 10 stages of grocery shopping.
1. Where do I even start?
You know this feeling. You walk in the store, and you immediately feel overwhelmed by all of the choices.
2. I don't know where anything is, even though I've been here dozens of times.
I have to search ten aisles to find the one thing I need. I might as well just spend the whole day in the store.
3. What's my budget?
I try to stick to a weekly budget, but that almost never works out in my favor because the food is calling out my name.
4. What brands do I buy?
Stupid question: the cheapest. DUH! 60 cent Raviolis is where it's at.
5. OMG, THERE'S A SALE!!!
Because when something's on sale, that just gives me an excuse to buy it. I'm a happy shopper and a smart shopper. It's a win-win for everyone involved.
6. I need to get out of here as fast as I can.
I really don't want my bank account to be crying when I leave.
7. Should I eat healthy this week or no?
Who am I kidding? Microwavable meals it is.
8. What do I actually need though?
I should really make a list before I come here, shouldn't I?
9. *Waits three hours in the cashier line*
Seriously, how much food are these people buying??
10. I'm feeling pretty accomplished right now.
