Does anyone else love shopping for new and colorful spring clothes? Hopefully, I am not alone here. There is just something about spring that makes me feel refreshed, rejuvenated, and joyful. (Probably because its the season of Easter, but that is a whole other story.) Touching up your closet with a new spring dress or shorts can boost up your spirit. Why not treat yourself? Here are some trends to look for this spring season.

1. Pastels, specifically lilac

Pastels are usually quite popular in the springtime, but in 2018, Lilac is really making a statement. You can find lilac in almost every store or boutique right now.

2. Gingham, also known as "checks"

This spunky pattern is very popular among things like dresses, tops, and even swimsuits. A go-to brand for gingham is Lauren James.

3. Fringe and Tassel

This is mostly seen in accessories, like earrings, purses, and even shoes. Great places to find these statement pieces are Target, BaubleBar, and local boutiques.

4. Chunky Wedges

Wedges are always a spring staple. Recently, Chunky and bold wedges have really made a scene in warm weather fashion. A great brand to check out is OTBT.

5. Cold shoulder tops

You can find a cold shoulder top at literally any clothing store right now. My favorite place is Kohls!

6. Ruffles

In many other images above, you can see how common ruffles are in spring. They are feminine and add a hint of delicacy to your outfit!

7. Yellow

Yellow is a great way to make a statement and incorporate the season of spring into your outfit. You're sure to brighten the room (or home BBQ) wearing such a flattering and happy color. Belk has so many amazing yellow dresses.

8. Statement Bags

Statement bags always complete an outfit and I promise you will get compliments. Floral is a very popular pattern right now. Two amazing places to get bags are Target and TJ Maxx.

9. Asymmetrical, and Midi Skirts

This vintage piece can be paired with a simple or busy blouse or tee. The vintage feels adds innocent femininity to your overall look that is timeless and beautiful. ModCloth has dozens of midi and asymmetrical skirts.

10. High Neck Dress

High neck dresses are very popular right now in general. A high neck adds a bare shoulder, but still adds coverage to your chest. A great site for any dress this season is Lulus!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
