As the new semester commences, I have been updating my playlists and filling them with some motivational, uplifting, empathizing, and vibe-y tunes. After listening to new artists while revisiting old ones, here are some songs I thought to add to my playlist in no specific order:
1. I Was Here - Beyoncé
As an ardent Beyoncé fan, I Was Here makes the top of my list for the best inspiring songs. Her performance brought tears to my eyes as she urges everyone to give back to the people in our community.
2. Wonders - The Script
I took a break from The Script after listening to their album, #3. However, the latest album, Freedom Child, has been played on repeat on my Spotify and the eighth track, Wonders, is a much-needed tune to detoxify and reduce the pressure from a long day.
3. Masterpiece - Jessie J
The English singer reminds you of the flaws of being a human and to continue working on our masterpiece.
4. Touch the Sky - Hillsong UNITED
Even though I am not a Christian but something about this song calms my nerves and reassures that solutions are awaiting the never-ending problems.

5. Daydream - Tori Kelly
Tori reminds us to chase our dreams and reach for the stars despite the obstacles one encounters. The harmonies in the last chorus and the acoustic vibes are best enjoyed while working on your essay in the local coffee shop.
6. Conqueror - Empire Cast
The cast of Empire portrays what it means to keep your head held high even though life is one big rollercoaster.
7. Learn to Let Go - Kesha
Rainbow was released the day after my birthday and the first track I listened to was Learn to Let Go and I immediately added it to my playlist without any hesitation. Kesha addresses the importance of letting go of the past in order to redeem our happy endings.
8. Let You Down - NF
The prime focus of Hip-Hop/Rap music is on the lyrics rather on the tune of the song or the instruments used. NF sheds light on his self-reflection about his past along with attaching a catchy chorus.
9. Vibe - JoJo
The artist of the hit single, Too Little, Too Late, kicks it up a notch with Vibe from her album Mad Love. and it’s hard not to tap your feet.
10. Alive - Sia
I’ve found Sia to bring a spoon of uniqueness to her music and the song builds up as it progresses to the chorus. She vocalizes her survival at times of adversity and her emotions are displayed throughout the song.
