From the newest hits, to the old jams that will make us sentimental, and even the "borrowed" songs remade into spectacular covers by today's top artists, enjoy this roundup of some of the songs you need to get you through the month of April.

1. "Lost in Japan"- Shawn Mendes

Shawn has been hinting to a new album release with his social media posts, and this only makes sense after the release of two new singles within the past two weeks. First, he released "In My Blood" and then this song, "Lost In Japan". Both songs are incredible, and are perfect for a long car ride.

2. "Contra"- Logic

Bobby Tarantino II is an ode to "mixtape Logic" and his culture as Bobby rose to fame. Shortly after releasing this album, him and his wife (Jessica Andrea, pictured on the album cover) announced their separation after two years of marriage. While the whole album features feel-good songs, "Contra" has proven to be the perfect song to workout to.

3. "Walk on Water"- Thirty Seconds To Mars

Although I've never been an entirely huge Thirty Seconds to Mars fan, this album won me over. Jared Leto and his band decided to make an album about the American dream and the concept of our country today, and "America" is the product of just that. ("Walk on Water" is controversial, empowering, and pure greatness.)

4. "Your Song"- Lady Gaga

Revamp: The Songs of Elton John & Bernie Taupin is one of the best things we've received in April so far. Some of our favorite artists collaborated on a reimagining album of Elton John & Bernie Taupin's greatest works. My personal favorite is Lady Gaga's rendition of "Your Song", but you can catch Coldplay, Florence + The Machine, Sam Smith, and Miley Cyrus on the album too.

5. "Pray"- Sam Smith (feat. Logic)

Everybody needs a little (or a lot, if you're me) Sam Smith in their lives. This collaboration remix with Logic features the rapper singing over a bluesy-guitar as opposed to his traditional beats, which adds an interesting twist to Sam Smith's emotional ballad.

6. "Vincent"- Ellie Goulding

Released at the beginning of February 2018, Ellie Goulding's newest single gives us a beautiful cover of Don McLean's iconic song tribute to Vincent van Gough, "Vincent". Her beautiful acoustic-guitar accompanied rendition is exactly what you need before you go to bed, or just to unwind after a stressful day.

7. "Want You Back"- 5 Seconds of Summer

This song has our inner middle-school-girl personality coming out in full force. This boyband has us in our feels and dancing in the kitchen at the same time. A job well done, 5SOS.

8. "Knock You Down"- Keri Wilson, Kanye West, Ne-Yo

Obviously there has to be a throwback (or two, or three?) on your playlist, and this song is one of them. It makes for a perfect pick-me-up on days when you just need to jam in the shower or the car.

9. "Gravity"- Sara Bareilles

There's always that one song on the playlist that makes you want to cry your eyes out (in a good way?)... and Sara Bareilles does just that with her song "Gravity". Again, another classic song that just gets better with time.

10. "When Love Takes Over"- David Guetta (feat. Kelly Rowland)

Since the latter of this list has consisted of some serious sentimental vibes, it only makes sense to reminisce on the iconic Kelly Rowland of Destiny's Child. 8 years later, and this song is just as good as the first time I've heard it. Play it while you workout or clean the house to make things a little more fun!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
