As an avid music listener, I find myself a little grossed out by the kind of songs that are higher up on the popular lists. Most of the time, you'll see songs about booties, sex, and every other word being a swear. And, I love a catchy song about going "Side to Side" as much as the next person, but I believe there are a lot of underrated songs that should be hitting the top ten.

1) You're Such A - Hailee Steinfeld

An upbeat song about breaking away from the "difficult little devil" in your life.

2) Scars To Your Beautiful - Alessia Cara

Who doesn't need a pick me up sometimes?

3) All We Know - The Chainsmokers feat. Phoebe Ryan

We loved that rRover, but what about fighting flames?

4) Sad Song - We The Kings feat. Elena Coats

A light, cute song about being sad without their significant other.

5) The Cave - Mumford & Sons

Pulling this one from ye old 2009, this song has a nice, relaxing feel.

6) Rock Bottom - Hailee Steinfeld feat. DNCE

Another Steinfeld, but this time, making things work between you and your S.O. Love conquers all.

7) Beautiful Now - Zedd feat. Jon Bellion

Basically, no matter what, we're beautiful now.

8) Crazy Youngsters - Ester Dean

This song was the last thing you heard if you watched Pitch Perfect 2 through to the credits. A very up beat song to compliment a great voice!

9) Air - Shawn Mendes feat. Astrid

A mellow, pretty sounding song that you can dedicate to the person who is suffocating you.

10) Stand By You - Rachel Platten

Even if you can't find heaven, there's always something who's sure to walk through hell with you, for you.

On the Upper East Side, Blair Waldorf is an icon. She's what every girl aspires to be. She's beautiful, confident, and can handle any obstacle that life throws at her. Sure, she may just be a television character. But for me, she's a role model and theres a lot that can be learned from Queen B.

“I just want you to know that you’re very special… and the only reason I’m telling you is that I don’t know if anyone else ever has.”

We Heart It

Over the past decade, television has undergone a very crucial transition: the incorporation of female lead characters. Since it's a known fact that girls actually do run the world (Beyonce said so herself), it's time for the leading ladies of the small screen to get some credit. Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:
