Whether you grew up performing in shows or not, you still probably love a good Broadway jam session every once in a while. The following are my favorite songs to sing along to from musicals.

1. "Defying Gravity"

This is a given, because "Wicked" is one of the greatest musicals of all time, and the soundtrack does not disappoint. Even though some of us can't hit all of the powerful notes that Idina Menzel can, we still try.

2. "Without Love"

Whether you love the movie or the original Broadway musical, "Hairspray" has amazing numbers that you can sing over and over again. "Without Love" will always be one of my absolute favorites.

3. "Circle of Life"

Since we were just little kids, we have been singing this song whenever we hear the famous opening words. This song never seems to get old, and I know I never want it to. "The Lion King" continues to be one of my favorite movies and musicals to this day.

4. "You're the One That I Want"

This song from "Grease" is a classic, and I never hesitate to sing along when I hear it playing. Along with "Summer Nights," this song is one of my favorite songs from "Grease" that I will never get tired of listening to.

5. "One Day More"

This song has several different parts, but just singing it by yourself in different voices is just as great as singing it with a group of people. "Les Miserables" has one of the most beautiful soundtracks, and this song is the powerful ballad that never fails to give me goosebumps.

6. "The Sound of Music"

This song just makes me want to run through the hills of Austria singing. "The Sound of Music," especially the movie adaptation starring Julie Andrews, is such a brilliant and classic musical that has such a memorable soundtrack.

7. "The Phantom of the Opera"

Whenever I listen to this soundtrack, I just pretend I am an amazing opera singer just like Christine. This song is both dramatic and intense, and whenever I listen to it, it makes me want to watch the movie starring Gerard Butler.

8. "All That Jazz"

Whether you are just snapping your fingers to the beat or belting out the lyrics, this song is another perfect song to sing to in the car. I remember this being one of the first songs I listened to that got me interested in Broadway musicals, and it continues to be one of the best songs in a musical. (It's from "Chicago.")

9. "Omigod You Guys!"

I recently saw "Legally Blonde: The Musical" and ever since, I could not get this song out of my head. For that reason, I knew this song deserved a spot on my list.

10. "Seasons of Love"

When the first few notes of this song are heard, its easy to just start tearing up. This song is inspiring, beautiful, and pretty much perfect in every way. "Rent" has a great soundtrack, but this song continues to be my favorite.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
