I recently visited the McDonald's located on West Kennedy Boulevard in Tampa, Florida for a promotional free meal. My friend and I were excited to receive our free medium value meal but less than excited to see that the line and wait for the meal were both extra long. We were happy to find, however, that while we waited McDonald's supplied one of the best and most entertaining playlists ever that was full of throwback and current hits. Here are the ten songs that graced our ears.
1. "Problem" - Ariana Grande feat. Iggy Azalea
Ariana is the queen of bops. On every one of her albums, Queen Ari has slain with tracks like "The Way," "Break Free," "Problem," and now on her new upcoming album "Dangerous Woman" the track "Be Alright" is the bop of all bops. Please listen to Ariana Grande to enrich your life.
2. "She Looks So Perfect" - 5 Seconds of Summer
The Australian band's debut single was a hit in more than just Australia so, of course, it would make McDonald's playlist.
3. "Shut Up and Dance" - Walk The Moon
Walk The Moon's "Shut Up and Dance" was one of the songs of the summer last summer. A wonderful addition to your nugget eating playlist.
4. "Pompeii" - Bastille
"Pompeii" is kind of a dark song but still catchy and a hit that everyone knows the words too.
5. "Drag Me Down" - One Direction
Ever since they came in third on "The X Factor" back in 2010 One Direction has produced nothing but straight fire. Any of their songs would be perfect for McDonald's playlist but "Drag Me Down" was a great choice.
6. "Rude" - MAGIC!
Another summer jam, "Rude" was a welcome tune to my dinner time jam session.
7. "Lay It All On Me" - Rudimental feat. Ed Sheeran
Relatively new, this collaboration by Rudimental with Ed Sheeran is really fun and catchy, even if all you know is the chorus (like me).
8. "Miss Movin' On" - Fifth Harmony
Just like One Direction, Fifth Harmony came in third place on "The X Factor" and have released really great songs ever since. The world needs more girl groups like Fifth Harmony.
9. "Chains" - Nick Jonas
Nick Jonas could not have had a better idea than going solo. Thank you Nick, "Chains," along with the rest of your album, is great.
10. "Titanium" - David Guetta feat. Sia
A throwback to a few years back, major hit "Titanium" made its way onto the McDonald's playlist and it should be and probably is on everyone else's playlists as well. Everyone needs a little David Guetta and a little Sia, or a lot, even if it is one of their many collaborations.
